Market Ready #2

I am adding another display shelving piece to my booth this week so lots of stuff is heading that way.  I feel better about how little I blog when I see the amount of stuff I get ready to sell each week!  Feel free to ask questions, comment and Pin any of these images.

Vintage Frame with Metal Mat

Vintage Sconce - I will paint if it doesn't sell like this

The vintage Hoda Sconces fit perfectly inside that great old frame!

Cute little Tin Front Shelf

Cubbies for your collections!

I love old suitcases! And you don't see the white ones often.

How about those plaid dishes!!

I will paint this if it doesn't sell as is.

One of my favorite scrap creations.

I love making these finials!

Carved wood makes me happy !

Life is breathtakingly beautiful- DIY quote art

Here is a simple little craft project for you.  I had some cheap landscape art in an 8 x 10 frame that was the perfect candidate for some DIY quote art that I had seen all over Pinterest.  I searched the paper crafts isle at Hobby Lobby to find some letters and the ones I found were already sticky on back.  I laid them out on the landscape art and sprayed with some white spray paint and then removed the letters.  It did not turn out perfect, the paint did get under the letters a little so I sanded the whole picture slightly to make it look aged.  I prefer the sanded look anyway.

It is a fun quick project!

Market Ready #1

I am going to start a new regular post called  "Market Ready".  I will post the things I have made, collected, and cleaned that are heading to my booth at a local antique mall that week.  This way you can see some of my projects I never blog about.  I welcome questions and comments, and feel free to Pin these. If you follow my facebook page, Pretty Purple Treasures, or follow me on instagram (SELINAGJ) then these will be repeats.

DIY Wall Art- Easy and Cool

I found out about this great website from my 7th grader and I felt like I had found a gold mine of free fun. Tagxedo.com!!! I sat down with my boy and we had some fun!

Last year (Christmas break) I had asked the kids to fill a page with all the things they love.  My plan was to frame it, but it was lacking in looks so we tuned those sweet lists into this cool art.

First up is my love and passion for what I do.

Next up is my 9 year old son's fun list of things he loves.

My 5 year old son's list, can you tell they are ALL boy?1?!

My 12 year old son chose this cool swallow and of course I love his list!

And this is my love list, these are so fun you should should try them.  Even if you never print them they are fun to make and you can save them on your computer.

First stop at the web site is the "Create" button and then "Load" to type in your own words.

I would love to know what you create with this!  Fun gifts to make and so much more!

My New Booth Space

I had booths at 2 locations but put my name on the waiting list for a bigger booth just 2 months ago.  I was surprised I got the call so quickly, and it meant a lot of scrambling to make it come together in a short amount of time.  I made the decision to focus on one space instead of 2 and I now have a great location inside the mall.  I came from 2 not so great locations.  I will tweak this over time, I have so many projects in the works, I'm excited.

Here is how I started in October 2013.  Don't be jealous of my fancy pictures under fluorescent lighting taken with my phone ;-)

Junky Pumpkins

I saw Colleen's cute junky pumpkins on her Organized Clutter blog about a month ago and I filed that idea away in my brain and maybe my Pinterest board too, who knows!  Then I hit up the thrift store and went down the baking isle to find my circles and I found these very cheap.  I had the junk so I either glued or wired the junk down after I spray painted the pumpkins. They were quick and fun to make.

Chalkboard Roundup!

Here is a crazy little collage that shows some of my
chalkboard projects.

And below are some chalkboards I have not shown on my blog before.  I love quotes and I love putting them on my chalkboards!! I only use second hand finds to make my chalkboards, some of these were bad art, scratched mirrors or someone else's craft project castaway. My other chalkboards can be found here, here, and here.

Spooky Porch 2013

I hope you spot a few ideas you can use! There are plenty of photos and some good tips!

My favorite new addition this year is my hanging witch hats.  I got them all at a thrift store so less than $3 for all.  I attached a safety pin to the top of the hat and used fishing line to hang them.  I used duct tape to attach the line to my porch.

My skinny witch legs from last year!  These are made from pool noodles. I bought thicker noodles on summer clearance but  I didn't change them out yet. The signs are broom all came from Dollar Tree last year. I spray it with a clear coat so it would last a few seasons.

Dollar store decor at its best!

I had the iron work up already and wrapped some very cheap skeletons with fake web and creepy cloth.

Going on 3 years with this idea and I still love it- fishing line again to attach.

Another view of my hats.

I am a huge fan of creepy cloth!  I've found it at Dollar stores in the past.   My spray painted snakes are just stuck in there.

Fishing line again to hold the animals on the column and
the rat on the rail.

My boys did this in a kid sized wheelbarrow.

I don't think I ever posted 2012's porch but this is where I started.   Spooky inside decor is posting soon!
