Here are two pieces I have completed that I call refunked art. I took old outdated mass produced prints and added a quote to them. I stenciled the quote on there and filled with a Sharpie. To take away the sharp contrast of the sharpie, I sanded it all with a fine grit sandpaper. Most of these old prints are textured so sanding them lightly has a great effect! I love how they turned out. Keeping words level when stenciling is such a chore for me! Anyone else?
The art below was huge over the couch art, roughly 2 x 4 feet, so I curt it down to a smaller size and loved the look unframed. I glued D rings on the back with E6000 and added a wire for hanging. From my experience, I know this will hold fine.
Here's another idea for out of date art or canvases. Below is a huge canvas that was discolored and flat out ugly. I painted on 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint for a cool sign for my booth!
